I have not found a place in my university to get past exams. What are some common ways to obtain past exams?

Thank you for any comments in advance.

Ask your professor for past exams.

If past exams aren't available, then it's probably because the professor doesn't want you to have them.

I think fraternities have an archive of old exams for courses for the members. Our engineering frat in our school does, for example.

Ask someone in another class you take to see if they have had that course. Old exams are helpful, but it doesn't mean the professor will reuse the old test.

Although that's true, it's still more practice!

But I would definitely make friends with kids who've taken the class already. If not, just ask someone who's in another lecture of the same class and ask if their instructor gave them any.

This is the sort of thing where I hope you're a freshman/sophomore. You need to start making friends in ALL of your science classes. At some point, it ends up being almost all the same people. The more friends you have, the more likely you are to find those tests. Just chit chat during classes/outside, see if anyone is doing a study group. Join clubs, clubs are a great way to meet people.

Old tests are a great way to see what types of things teachers ask, and how they ask it. I've taken 3 of the hardest Bio Professors at my college, one of whom gives you his old tests, and find they almost always recycle at least some questions.

That's not you want to learn, I'm guessing you can't rely on it in Med School, but it always helps to have seen, right?!

Lol. Exactly what I was thinking....but in all honesty, the most meticulous test banks I have come across were those that the Frats/Sororities kept. I was never a Sorority sis, just friends with one. Some kept tests up to 10 years back. Another actually went through and calculated the perent of true/false and the odds of the answer being 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', etc. I learned that in Medical Micro, when in doubt, choose 'false' or 'C'. :D

Make friends w/ upperclassman who have taken this class...this may be harder or easier depending on how large your campus is.
