I'm a sophomore biology major currently (recently) planning for a PathA career. My understanding is that admission to a masters program is competitive, but I'm shadowing at and volunteering for my local hospital's pathology/anatomy department, and my GPA is in good standing. Aside from that though, what else is expected of prospective students? I have pretty much 0 extracurricular or research experience, though I have begun looking for research positions as of this last semester.

Also, I've heard of a few cases of people getting paid to go to PA school by hospitals in need of PA's. Is it realistic to look for this kind of opportunity? How would I go about doing so?

Thanks.
