Pay to volunteer abroad?

Discussion in 'Pre-Medical - MD' started by lost, Oct 12, 2002.

  1. Hi,
I was/am interested in volunteering in countries outside the US. But as I've looking through various programs online, I've realized that you need to spend quite a bit of money inorder to participate in any program. Are there any organizations which provides money for travel and boarding expenses....or at least partly subsidize...just wondering

A volunteer organziation that costs nothing for the volunteer (in fact you'll get about $5,500 when you're done as a "readjustment allowance"). However, the minimum commitment is two years. All expenses are paid (travel to/from, living expenses at the same level as the people you will be serving, healthcare, some "spending" money). The toughest job you'll ever love.

Let me know if you have any questions.
