outside of school aid, loans, and parental contribution...what are potential sources? are there scholarships available for medical school? i know there are a ton of guides out there for undergrad $, but where's a good place to look (other than google) for scholarships/merit-based $ for med school?

most schools have some scholarships available for top students. i've gotten 3-5K/year which helps and loans cover the rest. 98% of your classmates will be taking out loans for the whole sum plus living expenses (at my school it is $1600/month for living) so don't get bogged down in trying to figure out how to pay for school, worry about getting in the door!

im not sure but if you are from new york city, you might be able to qualify for tap, which is up to 5k. i guess, if you work on it, and look for obscure grants and scholarship you might be able to finance a good portion of your education.

I don't have a horse, so I can't sell those kind of rides.

Is it morally wrong for me to sell my body?

I was thinking of buying a new car before med school, but from what I'm hearing here I should be buying a pony.

Perfectly fine, just don't declair it on your taxes.:D

    Depends. Are you religious?
Almost everyone takes out loans. Significant scholarship money in med school is a lot harder to come by than undergrad so I wouldn't stress over it...Unless you wanna be MD/PHD...I only found out a couple weeks ago those guys get everything paid for!
