Firstly, I apologize if I have written this in the wrong area. I am new to SDN.

For a US citizen who has just finished MD residency in US, what are the regulations to pay off the med school debt. Can this person move and work in another country and pay loan from abroad OR they must live in US until they pay it off?

As long at the bank/lender gets your check, it's all good.

While you can pay from abroad, the US is one of a handful of countries that has double-taxation. Here is a brief rundown (http://americansabroad.org/issues/taxation/us-taxes-while-living-abroad-faq/), but you may be liable for US federal and state taxes (after a certain threshold) on top of any taxes you pay in the country you're living/working in
