payroll service for independent OD?

Hello everyone,

I just became an independent doc (formed an s-corp) from being employed. I would literally be paying myself, and the occasional independent OD who can fill in here and there. What payroll service do you use? My accountant recommended Paychex or ADP, but being quoted $86/monthly paycheck to only pay myself sounds quite expensive to me. I understand that they would calculate all of the taxes and quarterly taxes, but many other docs out there have recommended QuickBooks or just using their accountants. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Agree, unless you've got a couple dozen employees I would do it yourself.

I still do my own with mutiple docs and 12 employees.
Takes about 15 minutes/pay period

I use surepayroll.com Its pretty easy. Runs around $60.00 a month depending on how employees you have. They file all necessary forms. I just do my taxes at the end of the year on my own.
