Hey all! So I'm a stress mess right now. I just got a letter in the mail from PCOM and lucky me, I'm on the alternate list. PCOM is my absolute first choice and moving away from philly right now is not really a good option for me. Anyone know of anything I can do to better my chances of getting in. PLEASE give me some home. I thought my interview (March 15) went so well... They kept telling me how unbelieve my resume was, but somehow, I only ended up on the alternate list. Thanks!

Hey, sorry to hear about the alternate list. I got my letter today and I am on it as well. I interived on March 2nd and also felt great about how it went. I am not sure what to say becuase I have no idea what to do about it. Good luck, I hope we both make it in.

Yeah I went to St. Joseph's Univeristy right up the street. Everytime I passed by PCOM I would say something like, "If God wills it, I'll go there."
For a little while I turned PCOM into an "idol" so to speak. 🙁

But something about PCOM, they have this thing for accepting people very late. So don't give up hope, I knew several people who were accepted in late June.

Best of wishes!

Waitlists/alternate lists really suck! I was on PCOM's alternate list when I applied in 2004. I was in Public Health school in DC at the time so I'd fax them updated grades as they become available and sent them as many LOR's and LOI's as possible. The summer was almost over and I was sure I was NOT going to get in.

On August 6th, 2004 (9:16AM) the day before orientation, I got "the call" from the Admissions office offering me a spot! There are a few others in my class who got the last minute call as well. Don't give up. If PCOM is where you want to be, then prove it to them.

FYI: I'm kicking major butt in med school... 😀

Correct me if I am wrong, I doubt it was your interview that put you on the alternate list. Rather, I think it was that the majority of accepted applicants attend.
