I was shadowing at the Huntington VAMC and I saw this TV running in the vending area. And it said that the VA was associated with Pikeville's medical school. Can anyone explain what the relationship is between the two organizations?

Quick search on PCSOMs website under their Appalachian Postgraduate Training Institute Consortium (AOPTIC)

    <a href="http://www.va.gov/sta/guide/facility.asp?ID=749" target="_blank">http://www.va.gov/sta/guide/facility.asp?ID=749</a>

showed that the Huntington VA Medical Center, in Huntington MV, is on their list of affiliated institutions.

Interestingly enough, I did not see it on the AOA website that lists the OPTIs for all of the osteopathic schools.

For more information you should probably contact Dr. Michael Murphy, DO at [email protected] He is the executive directed of the AOPTI.
