Does anyone have any information on the competitiveness, length of program (?? 6 years), and best programs for training pediatric hematalogists/oncologists? I know St. Jude in Memphis has a pretty strong researched-oriented one, as well as Childrens Hospital Boston. thanks.

The pedi heme/onc program at Children's Hospital Boston (in conjunction with Dana-Farber) is a 3 year fellowship that follows a (3 year) pediatrics residency, so six years total. It's regarded as one of the best ones in the country, I think. Many of the current fellows are MD/PhDs, and they mostly went to top research-oriented medical schools (Harvard, Wash U, UCSF, Stanford).

Hope this helps.
