Please post any openings which are available. Thank you.
Check out Lutheran Medical. They've got a ton of residency programs in pediatric residency and a lot of spots. They open up a new location with new spots like every month or so.Please post any openings which are available. Thank you.
Contach, thanks for "uplifting" response. I've been practicing for over 15 years. I teach and I was trying to get some info for someone. There are usually spots open somewhere in the US that are not always filled. Yes, Match is over, but there's always something open.Wasn't pedo match almost 3 months ago?
I don't think it's happening for you this year....

Absolutely. Over the years, a number of people have told me that I should. I've actually received a potential offer for a fellowship. I'm seeing how that would fit into my life at this time. I'm been practicing for a good number of years and have done some teaching in residency programs and would love to teach FT. If I were to specialize, I'm not sure what it would be. I really love all phases of dentistry. What about you?New Goals,
Would you consider going back to specialize?

Good choice. More and more people I know are doing Ortho. I interviewed for a job back in 2011 and the dental director was leaving after over 10 years of practicing to do a residency in Ortho. It's never too late and it's becoming more and more common.I'm no longer a dental student, but if I were and the tuition were low or non-existent I would probably do Ortho.

Absolutely. I can remember wearing braces close to two years. Every appointment, the ortho. assistant did most of the work and the orthodontist came in and did a few things like tightening the wires and making small talk, lol. Honestly, most of my classmates and schoolmates who got all the good grades and had poor manual dexterity went into Ortho.Yeah, I think the appeal is the relatively non-strenuous, low-stress nature of the job.

Not sure. From what I've seen over the years from my colleagues, they seem to have very good incomes which do exceed the levels of some general dentists' incomes. On the other hand, I know of general dentists who are doing just as well if not slightly better than some specialist because they're doing a lot of implants. Interesting question. I'm sure there's some information on this with income averages for various years in dental magazines.Heh, yup.
Newgoals, would you say that the average ortho income has dropped to general dentist levels because of the increased number of grads and older orthos lingering in the market (ie, due to saturation)?

I agree. I can't imagine giving up extractions, dentures and fillings just to bend and twist a few wires all day, lol. That sounds unbearably boring
