Hi all,
Posting for a colleague of mine who is interested in peds hospital medicine.

She’s wondering what the market is like for non-fellowship trained people seeking jobs at community/non-academic places. Are there a lot of jobs available? Do most states/cities have these types of positions available? How do the salaries compare to gen peds jobs? Anyone have any first hand experience?

Thanks!

you got an update on that?

I'm not a hospitalist but there are jobs out there. Academic centers may or may not require the fellowship, but it's becoming more common. Community centers care less about it. Salaries should be similar to outpatient, but that depends on the institution and there's a range.
