For those who were accepted or even asked to interview at Penn State, would you mind posting you stats? Also, how are the chances for an out-of-stater? I read in The Princeton Review book that PSU only accepts 40% out of staters, is this true?
I interviewed there and I am from california.
I have an overall 3.41 (sci-3.14 and non sci-3.63) and a 32. They made it very clear at the interview that they are a private school and that the make up of the class only reflects the applicant pool. But I am waitlisted now. I really want to go there. Good luck
Sorry to give all of you the wrong impression, but I'm applying this summer; I haven't actually sent in all my application stuff. Thanks though...it's looks like stats don't have as high importance as other schools (not because your stats aren't good, but because of the diverse stats that were waitlisted and accepted).
Stats are DEFINITELY not all it's about. Stats will get you an interview (but so will experiences, or an ace personal statement) but it won't get you in to medical school. And Penn State is a pretty cool place. I definitely recommend applying there. I just hope they let me in. 🙂
I was accepted through an early program our college has with PSU. I have a 3.75 GPA (science is somewhere around 3.5) and a 34 MCAT. I'll be there August 2003. I just fell in love with Hershey! <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" /> Hope to see you all there. Good luck with the wait list!
Oh, btw, I'm in state.
