Looking for tips or advice on how to write a personal statement for a postdoc position! One of the research postdocs I am applying to asks for a personal statement, which I have never written for a postdoc application, only cover letters and research statements. There is no info whatsoever on what kind of information to include in the ad itself. Many thanks!

Personal statement is your statement of purpose. Don't repeat your CV but add texture and context to who you are as an individual, stating your professional goals, desired specialization (area of interest), and your research interests. Hopefully, tying all together, into your future directions. Then, ideally, each postdoc site will see how they can fit you nicely into their training program.
