5300 characters... it says it right on the AMCAS app, hard to miss.

well, seeing as i am not applying til next year and have never even opened the AMCAS app...i wouldn't know.

Just so you know, you can get an AMCAS ID and sign in this year if you'd like, just to see what the application's like. It's free to register and you're not obligated to submit once you sign up.

I would suggest it just to get a feel of what to expect come next year.
