I am going to be applying to both Md and DO schools. Do I need to write/tailor my essays to Md or DO?

Well DO schools allow 4500 characters (including spaces) and AAMCS MD applications allow 5300 characters with spaces. I'd say just shorten your MD one for DO schools unless you want the joys off writing another completely unique personal statement again and editting it. Though if you have an inspirational experience shadowing and volunteering for a DO that'd be great to put in.
