Awhile back, an SDNer had offered to email the Pestana review to other users. If anyone has it could you PM me. I have my surgery shelf this Friday and would like to review it. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I am in Costa Rica taking a medical spanish elective and do not have the file with me. I sent it to a bunch of SDNers back in January. Someone please step up and send it to these nice people! Thanks and good luck to everyone in Surgery!

Thanks Evo! I wish we could make a link instructing people how to get the document. I can't tell you how many PMs I have gotten for it. Don't know what the copyright issues may be, but everyone wants it!

Hey there...if anyone needs the pestana review still, send me a PM with their email addy.

Also, i just got a copy of the Kaplan's review series...it's a set of books for Step II. One of which is for Surgery. I noticed that Dr. PEstana is one of the co-authors for the review book for surgery.

The Clinical Vignette section of the Surgery Step II review IS wat they call the "pestana review"....this might be useful for those who aren't able to get in touch with someone who has the .doc file. Try to get your hands on a copy of the Kaplan Step II Surgery Review.

I've already e-mailed it to a dozen people or so- I won't take any more requests in a week because my exams are coming up and I am going overseas for my electives....

My surgery shelf is in 44 hours and I'm going a bit crazy.

I did get a pestana document that is 79 pages long with vignettes, but I thought there might be another one that is more of a review of the different topics. If there is a review, would someone pleeeeease be kind enough to send it to me? If not, then please ignore this.

The "more comprehensive" version is the Kaplan Step 2 Surgery study notes, which you would have to buy somewhere.
 
Simply put Pestana Review is all you really need for the surgery shelf. Case Files was useless, Lawrence's actually was fairly useful to read once through, and having done medicine was a big bonus. Do not use Recall for the shelf. NMS Surgery is very good but is too big a time investment IMO.
