Hello Folks,

The University of Utah Residency Program was just recently approved to add an additional resident to its program. We are looking for someone to start as either a PGY2 or PGY4 right away. Below are the details of our advertisement posted today on the ASTRO website. Please do not respond to me directly, but to the contact information below.

The Department of Radiation Oncology Residency Program at the University of Utah has an immediate open position for a PGY-2 or PGY-4 Resident starting July or August 2007. The Department of Radiation Oncology occupies 30,000 spacious square feet on the ground floor of the recently constructed Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Four Varian linear accelerators, including a Novalis stereotactic unit are in operation. Two high energy linacs are equipped with MLC and EPID. Additionally, the department operates a 4 slice GE Lightspeed CT with 4D capability installed, a conventional (Ximatron) simulator, HDR brachytherapy suite (Nucletron), Eclipse and BrainLab treatment planning systems, Variseed for prostate seed implants, IMPAC record and verify and Varis Vision. Active IMRT, IMRS/stereotactic and SBRT programs are in operation. There is a commitment to purchase a new IGRT-capable linear accelerator in the next 12 months. A local satellite facility is equipped with a Varian 21EX accelerator (with MLC and EPID) and a Ximatron simulator. The department includes 6 Radiation Oncologists, 4 Physicists and 5 Dosimetrists. Responsibilities include patient care and participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinics, and research with mentorship by faculty.
