My pharm class blows and I need a good book to read. FA gives Lippincott's and "Katzung and Trevor's Examination and Board Review" the same rating. Thoughts?

I've got both, and I'd recommend using both. Katzung's chapters are very easy reads, but are almost overly simplistic, but the review questions are awesome, our pharm prof actually recommended them as the level of difficulty that will be on the exams (almost all clinical correlations, so also very useful for boards). Lippincott has more of the stuff you need to memorize. So if you like practice questions, buy the Review, if not, Lippincott is fine.
I had both and neither one of them are very good IMO. Neither is complete enough to stand on it's own, and both have glaring errors. I thought Basic and Clinical Pharmacology by Lange was a very good, complete, and error-free pharm text. Pharmacology recall was good for last minute review of the absolute basic must-know stuff.
I like pharm recall for getting the concepts down and some of the most important facts about specific drugs. Our pharm department is horrific as well.
Its really hard to compensate for bad pharmacology professors as far as class goes because its not like you can go study premade index cards; each idiot professor will try to emphasize certain things about drugs not in use for 50 years or come up with some application that they read somewhere but don't understand whatsoever and then you go to the clinicians and they tell you that the pharm professor is wrong but it doesn't really matter since the pharms write the test.
