I have applied for several pharmacy intern positions (and pharmacy technician ones where "pharmacy intern" wasn't an option on the application), in both hospital and retail pharmacies. So far I only have one interview in a retail pharmacy (Kmart), but I am hoping that there will be more (I still have to take the Walgreens skills assesment thing in-store so my application for that one is incomplete). My question is what should I wear to the interviews. I guess I should wear a dress shirt and tie to make a good impression, but do I need a jacket or not? The question goes toward both retail and hospital positions (I'd really like a hospital one but so far neither of the 2 hospitals I applied to contacted me).

U don't need jacket but won't hurt to wear it.

Go jacket if you have it. I find a plain shirt and tie without coat looks worse than a dress shirt by itself.

Which is why I don't wear ties to work. They're also uncomfortable.

I wouldn't overdress (ie suit). If I were hiring for my Walgreen's, I would be OK with an applicant showing up in nice, crisp dress trousers and a nice shirt. I personally don't care about the tie either way. Impeccably ironed clothes, though, are a must. And well-polished shoes. Too many people forget about the shoes...
