What is the max number of pharmacy schools you applied to?
Out of those schools you applied to, how many did you get into?

I am working towards applying to pharmacy school for Fall 2013 admissions, but I am wondering if applying to too many schools (ex: 9+ schools) will look bad to pharmacy schools...or is it irrelevant to them?

Any feedback I can get would be appreciated. 😳 Thank you in advance! 🙂

If you use PharmCAS early decision you can only apply to 1 school. Otherwise I don't think they have any way of knowing where else you're applying.

I plan to apply to TTUHSC for early decisions, and if I am deferred or rejected I'll apply to UT.

I still don't understand the thought behind applying to that many schools.

To answer your question though... no. I think other schools can only see where you've applied once they have accepted you through PharmCAS.

No, I don't think any institution will know how many schools you have applied to. Straight from the PharmCAS website: "PharmCAS institutions will not know how many applications you have submitted".

And no, I don't think it looks bad if you apply to numerous different schools. The advice I always see on here is "apply broadly" and there really is no harm about giving yourself the best possible chance of getting into pharmacy school (except the added cost of each designated school).

I applied to 8, got interviews from all of em went to 4 got 3 acceptances. I think over 10 would be overkill unless you have money to blow, I already feel like I applied to too many.

general guideline: apply according to ur competitiveness and the schools. It will not hurt u in terms of admission decision. One exception, there is one school I know of that asks the number of schools u apply to in their Supp app. I'm not sure how to make of this. Top candidates don't need to apply to many, but poor applicants do. Apply to ur top choices and some u have best chance getting in. I sent out 17 primary apps but I didnt complete Supp apps for half the schools because I got too many interviews already and got in two of my top choices. I also wanted to get in this year bad. It's foolish to simply base ur decision on the # of apps of others without knowing how competitive they are and the schools they apply to.
