physiatry thrillers!

That's a lot like a book I'm writing, called "Murder On The Internet Forum", where our hero, a sedentary 4th year medical student, uncovers a series heinous killings on an internet message board, and cracks the case in between joyriding in the attending's Ferrari and banging the cute nurses. :hardy:

we have a copy of Braddoms book in our call room. I read about 10 pages and nearly puked. I think it was a sad, sad attempt to get the word out about PM&R (but again, as our forefathers would wish, it is all about inpatient PM&R). Anyway, don't run out and buy it, watching Snapped on A&E is better.

Braddom's second novel, "Faith, Hope, and Murder" is actually a pretty compelling read- I finished it in two sittings. It has the same protaganist as "Murder on the Rehab Ward", but it's a more compelling story and flows better.

He has a new book out called "Appalachian Echoes", which as I understand it is about his experience growing up in the rural Appalachians

I agree (and, for that matter, he agrees) that his first book was a bit forced. It doesn't flow nearly as well as his second novel. Murder on the Rehab Ward, though, does have a few interesting ideas- in particular, the motivation of the murderer is consistent with some of the thoughts of a lot of physicians.

Hahah... I didn't want to be the first to say it 🙂 I didn't realize he wrote it as an attempt to get the word out about PM&R. Maybe Michael Crichton would be willing to write a book about physiatrists....

What is Snapped?

Snapped is a 30 min show on A&E that profiles women who go nuts and kill their husbands, family, boyfriends, lovers, etc... If you want murder and predictable suspense, it beats Braddoms book.
