General Summary: The Physical Therapist organizes, conducts and oversees medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs in the Physical Therapy Department to improve patient function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Helps patients reach maximum performance within the limits of his/her capabilities. The Physical Therapist is active in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.
Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older).
Supervision: Indirectly supervises the activities of the PTA and Rehabilitation Technician.
Education: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from an accredited school.
Licensure/Certification: Licensed Physical Therapist in state where currently practicing; Current BLS certification; Current ACLS preferred
