I've always heard that doctors in the south make the most but I've never actually known how much better. I came across this article recently about the owners of million dollar homes in Little Rock, Ar. Of the 20 people profiled, I counted 11 doctors. Thats not a bad ratio at all, and of the doctors on the list 3 of them practiced in rural areas of my state and just owned homes in Little Rock.

but at the end of the day you're still living in little rock

Eyyy Little Rock isn't bad....but it's the south, houses are dirt cheap compared to other places. Gotta love low cost of living :)

Well the Little Rock-Conway area has >500,000 people in it so it is not really a rural area. Pine Bluff is more rural but it is still a decent sized city for Arkansas (~50,000). Also most of the doctors listed were specialists in IM (Cards, GI, Nephro), radiology (nuclear rads), or surgery (Ortho, Neuro, Pediatric Cardiovascular). It looked like one person was a Psych/Adolescent Psych doctor. Now if a FP physician was living in a million dollar home in a rural area, then that would be quite something.
