I would like to know if any of y'all (yes, I'm a Texan) know which books are good to help with Physics 1 and 2. I am not very talented in math (I overcomplicate it) and find physics and my instructor to be VERY confusing. What books are good and break it down into a more simplistic approach so I can self-study at home? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!! 😀

I self-studied physics, organic, and chem 2 for the MCAT (i.e. took the MCAT before the classes), and for physics I used one college textbook (Cutnell & Johnson), Basic Physics A Self-Teaching Guide (Wiley publishing), and two MCAT study guides.

Since it isn't the MCAT that you are preparing for at the moment, and I assume you have a physics textbook, try the Wiley book. It is only $12-15, and does a good job of explaining the basics. It doesn't go into the math very much. It is much more concenptual. It would be best to read it before you start a new chapter in you class text.

There are also various websites that have animations that you might find helpful.

Good luck

There is a perfect book for this. It's called "Conceptual Physics" and its by Paul Hewitt.

Its basically all of physics using just concepts (no math). I think he does a fantastic job of explaining everything. Also, its perfect for the stuff that the MCAT has. My university library carried it, check yours it might.
