Wasabi,

When you go into your profile and click on "SELECT A DIFFERENT AVATAR IMAGE" an Avatar window will pop open with images to select from. To select your own custom image, go to the bottom of the Avatar pop up window and use the "USE CUSTOM URL" address bar or "SET URL" to select your own image that's not on the list provided by SDN! Have fun!

where'd you guys find the school icons? i am looking for NYU dental

1. go to google (www.google.com)
2. click on images
3. type in your school name (ie. New York University or University of Michigan)
4. click search
it will pull up iamges (thousands of them) that pertain to your school
5. right click on the image u want
6 click on Properties
7. copy the Address
8. paste the address as your Avatar <img src="http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:qt5xZQOxbPwC:monod.biomath.nyu.edu/~hgan/liberty.jpg" alt=" - " /> <img src="http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:FwgGBs2XJ1MC:www3.ca.com/images/events/chip_nyu.gif" alt=" - " />

Okay, I'm having a heck of a time pasting this. I don't see anywhere in my avatar list or the blank frame that will let me import or paste something. Could it be my Mac???

After you've gone to the screen where you can select your avatar image, you'll want to use the "custom URL" field at the bottom of that screen to type/paste in the URL of the image you want.

maybe i'm just really dense...but i really don't see where i can put my custom URL in my profile. could you explain one more time for the not-so-tech-savvy? thanks!

1) go to "my profile"
2) change or update your profile
3) message icon...go to "change avatar image"
4) then at the way bottom of the page...just to the bottom left of where you can click "next" is a place you can type in your url
5) click "set url"

you should be able to see your image displayed...hope this helps!

There's definitely not an option for rookie members like myself. If I did have that URL link, I'd definitely go with Steiner's. I once asked my buddy who is #1 at SIU what he thought when he gets a patient with a brutal set of teeth. He thinks:

"You poor bastard"

Just follow the easy steps in my above post.

step 8: go to your profile
step 9: click on View/Update Profile
step 10: click on Select a different Avatar Image
step 1aste the address of your image at::Use Custom URL:
step 12:SET URL
step 13: click select this avatar
step 14: enjoy your new image

Okay, in case you haven't watched my ridiculous thread, 50 posts does get you the opportunity to import your own image.

Now, I could be wrong. But I don't think Steiner's pic. is amelogenesis imperfecta. I think you usually get a "peg-tooth" appearance with that disorder--the teeth look smaller and peg-shaped and have an amount of space between them. Remember, I could be wrong about that. It looks to me like a good ol' case of severe periodontitis and other related occurrences. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

very good deciduous : its severe perio, in fact its ANUG (acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis) its not Amelogensis Imperfecta, b/c there is enamel formation.
