Has anyone who applied in June not heard from Pitt yet? Their office said that they send out invitations for the secondaries 2 weeks after receiving your AMCAS and doing a preliminary screening.

I was verified on 7/15. I'd had no contact from them, but read about the secondaries & rejections that were beign released.

Then, yesterday in the mail, I get a nice big envelope..... 🙂

How effed up! They got me all excited over a stupid recruitment letter. I was so bummed. We'll see if they follow that one up with a quick rejection. 😳

Pitt, apparently, has already started sending official rejections, so now, no news is good news.

FINALLY FRIGGIN GOT PITT

Coincidently, it happened about 1 hr after I called them. Anyway it was also in my Gmail Spam.

i got a packet from pitt yesterday in the mail...a brochure and a two page letter...i didn't apply to pitt, and the letter didn't actually say anything about telling me to apply...it was more just a "hey, check this book out...this is our school."

seemed kinda random since i didn't apply there...anyone else get that same thing?

yeah, i have an interview in mid-september.... i don't know if this helps or not, but they said something about a new procedure this year in admissions? that it's now rolling or something like that?--so maybe their sending out secondaries in batches this year

FYI - Last year Vandy was only giving 2ndaries to people they had already decided to interview (2ndary = interview). Probably the same this year.

I'm dredging this back up. Has anybody heard from Pitt in the past week? riceman04, did you hear from Pitt the other day? I'm not as anxious about it now that I have an interview somewhere, for some reason, but I'd still like to get it.

And I'm pretty sure the prompts are in the official prompts thread, but I'll go check.

Okay, I called. The woman was very nice. She said they're a bit behind, but they are currently processing applications. She asked how long my AMCAS has been in, and when I said it's been a few months she said I would probably hear in the next two weeks.

If it's any reassurance to doubters, I have a 36/3.9 and have gotten 3 interviewers already and I'm still waiting on Pitt's secondary.

I'm wondering if they do this thing on alphabetical order or something. I submitted the AMCAS on June 1st and was approved on June 18th.

No, I think the woman was, *gasp*, telling the truth. They're behind and haven't gotten to most of the applications yet. I'm certainly expecting a secondary!

My AMCAS was verified on 6/22. Also I'm in towards the beginning of the alphabet so I doubt it's alphabetical. We should all expect to hear from them in the next few weeks.

tigress, thanks for inserting a dose of common-sense into the thread! my apologies to everyone for contributing to the general mayhem by being paranoid. i think you're right...we should be hearing from them soon -- i called them a week or so ago, and they said i should hear in 2 or 3 weeks, so it sounds like their story is consistent.
