I have not yet heard from The University of Pittsburgh (Catagorical) and am planning a roadtrip soon in that direction for a string of interviews. I would like to keep a spot open for them as I drive by in case I am offered an interview. Does anyone have the interview dates for Pitt?

Thanks all.

Also, I know there has been discussion about calling a program if you are in this situation, I.E." I'm going to be in town for another program but am really interested in your program, any chance I can interview?" I think it was felt that this question couldn't hurt, as long as it was not asked too early (i.e. in Oct). We are 2.5weeks out from Deans letters, timing seem right yet, any thoughts?

Hey emt,
This is the interview email with dates. Hope it helps! Good luck.

We are delighted that you have chosen to apply to the Internal Medicine
residency program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Medical
Education Program. Because of your outstanding credentials, we are pleased to
extend you an invitation to interview with us.
Our goal during your interview is to give you the opportunity to learn about
the unique and innovative educational features of our training program, to
meet our housestaff and experience a taste of Pittsburgh's flavor. During your
interview visit each applicant will have two faculty interviews; if you
identify a special interest (specialty track, subspecialty career interest, or
research interest) we will do our best to match you with faculty who
specialize in your identified interest area. You will meet the Department
Chair, Program Director, and Key Clinical faculty from a variety of
disciplines and you will have an opportunity to see and learn about UPMC and
Pittsburgh's hot spots with our housestaff on your interview day.
Interviews will begin in November 2011. The Interview day begins at 7:15am and
concludes at approximately 2:30pm. Interview spots are limited and are offered
on a first come, first scheduled basis. Please schedule your interview as soon
as possible. To schedule an interview and help us match you with appropriate
faculty, please fill out the form below and return via email to
[email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you soon in Pittsburgh!
Sincerely,
Shanta Zimmer, MD
