Hello everyone,

I have been studying for verbal for a year and I improve from 3 to 6-7 on EK101 and Princeton verbal wb.

I then took AAMC verbal self assessment and got 55%. then I got 4 on AAMC3 and AAMC4.

Im not sure what went wrong, because I was doing fine on other sources but then I bombed my AAMC tests.

so Ive designed a strategy to improve my verbal score, 1) take full length kaplan verbal test everyday to improve my stamina and comprehension under timed conditions and also eliminate my anxiety
2) take two AAMC verbal passages then do careful post analysis in order to understand and recognize the type and pattern questions that appear on AAMC

Id really appreciate if anyone who has experienced an increase in their verbal score by implementing this strategy or something close to it.

Are you ESL/english your 2nd lang?
ESL, by the way, I forgot to mention that Im okay with a 6/7 on verbal, so Im not sure if its unrealistic to achieve that in a month by implementing this technique.

You need to have a strategy when reading the passages. You should be thinking after every sentence/every paragraph, what did I just read? What is the main point of the article? What is the argument? What are the different sides of the argument/does the author specify which side they support.

yea Im going to use Kaplans explanation of AAMCs, they map the verbal passages and explain the purpose of each question.
another strategy that Im prob going to use is reading the questions prior to reading the passage.

Since you're happy with a 6/7, I suggest just reading some online english articles daily that can help your reading comprehension skills within this last month. Simply doing practice without fixing the inherent problem wont solve anything

Leave the AAMC exams as a whole. Dont do them in bits an pieces. The AAMC exams are the last and best tests u have. Dont ruin them.

For Kaplan, thats fine i suppose. However, for building endurance and reading comprehension, I think it shouldn't be trained on practice tests, but rather external reading sources (online articles, magazines, etc.)

I'll be only retaking the verbal passages I took on AAMC 3 & 4
