hi, i posted a message once, but I only got a response from one person. I didn't know choosing a dental school is this painful and time-consuming! So this is the situation.

U of TN- I am from Nashville, so this is cheap for me. around $120,000 including everything(e.g. living expense). They just finished installing 40 DentSim machines(UT claims that they have the most number of these cutting edge simulators in the US).

Boston U.- I really liked the facilities, and faculties. People say the school's in bad section of Boston, but it looked ok when I was there. Definitely looked better than Temple. Expensive-slightly over $250,000.

U. of Pitt.- I am not a residence of Penn, so it costs me around $210,000. Nice facilities, nice number of students(less than 80 usually for incoming students). I thought the building is in a really nice area. Cons- Pittsburgh seems too isolated, and there are too many hills. building's located on the top of the hill.

Where should I go? if you can give me some honest opinions on this, i'll be SO grateful. Please give me some responses. If you know anything about these schools, give me some info, too.
thanx

I would choose U of TN. Homestate, cheaper, advanced. Need I say more? If you had PENN among your choices I would have said PENN, but you don't 🙁 so I would stick with UT.

You already answered your own question. U of TN costs almost half of BU or Pitt. Just think what you could do with an extra $120,000 - that would make a nice deposit on a practice down the line or pay for a specialty education after dental school.

Remember, the dental profession little to do with where you went, it's about what you do with your degree that makes you stand out. If you plan on staying in TN then going to U of TN will probably be better for you in terms of looking for opportunities.

40 dentsim model is a lot. Case has only 12 and the students have to sign up for it. However, when I visited, no body seemed to care to even care to go to the dentsim. The dentsim lab has noone in there for the whole day. They all want to work on real patients instead.
