depends, what diag are u talking about? I would only take AAMC diags as a measure of what u might actually get. I got a 25 on my first diag on aamc3. (9v 7p 7b)

i believe tests written by tpr and kaplan are meant to be harder, but I'm no expert (never took their exams). Take an aamc one, that's my recommendation, they're old actual mcats (well i think it's more a of a "best of" from actual mcats). can't get any closer than that.

I got a 15 on the kaplan diagnostic and on the princeton review free practice mcat, and a 27 on the real thing.

Hey Aggie-

If I remember correctly, the pre-health career center (or something in North Hall, or was it South Hall?) has a bunch of the MCAT materials available for loan--they've got multiple copies of everything, including TPR, Kaplan, Berkeley, all the AAMC stuff, yadda yadda yadda.

I went in and borrowed them all, and did all the test questions in there...if I got it wrong, I studied it. If I got it right, then I kept going. That's all I did, basically--practice, practice, practice. Do that, and you'll do fine. I did :)

Don't worry about it... I got an 18 on my first Kaplan diagnostic and got a 34 in April... those things are purposely made to scare you. :)

ha ha, oh no, someone did crappy on their first princeton diag?!?! who would have thought!?!?!? (sarcasm, oh the sarcasm)

my first princeton diag

6V, 6P, 7B, O WS

the real thing 3 months later

10V, 12P, 13B, R WS

Just to let you know, people rarely break 20 on the first of TPR diags. They're intended to be very hard so you'll know what are your weak points. Dont lose faith this early, put in the time to study, look at the question breakdown to see what you need to emphasize, and you'll be allright.

In my Princeton Review class this past Spring, the average of 40 people on the first diag was in the low teens and the average on the April MCAT was just below 30. Study, do the Princeton Review material, but don't worry.

thanks guys... i'll work on it for sure. I just wasn't exactly sure what to expect on the first one.
