•Year in school: graduated 2016; Exercise Science major
•Country/state of residence: 27M ORM, WA resident
•Schools to which you are applying:
•Science GPA: AACOMAS - 3.13 (upward trend) ; AMCAS - 3.01
** Might be important to mention that I took 4 post-bacc classes right after graduation: intensive Orgo series during the Summer -- A-, B+, A- and then Biochem the following quarter -- B+
•MCAT Scores: not taken, if I can then will prob be in the 505-510 range based on practice FLs
•Research – include any abstracts/posters/publications and how you were credited (eg. First author, senior author, etc):
- ~720 hours in Trauma 1 surgery/lab (no pubs)
•Physician shadowing – include hours/specialties:
- 10 hours ortho
- 10 hours FM
•Non-clinical volunteering:
- 450 hours Korean scientists and engineers association (served as an officer- VP/treasurer)
- 320 hours (Welcome Team at church)
- 40 hours Junior Achievement (teaching first graders)
•Extracurricular activities:
- co-started club at school (~400 hours)
- weightlifting/sports (10 years)
- tutor (English)
•Employment history:
- 720 hours research/lab assistant
- 5700 (ongoing) hours PT outpatient clinic
- 2400 hours Peds GI scribe
- 800 hours department TA
- 1700 hours PT outpatient clinic (different than before)
- 1250 hours English tutor
- 2100 hours personal assistant for student with disabilities
*** I am aware that my GPA seems to be my biggest issue, but any help is appreciated!
