hi i took my exam recently and got my score of 85.
my GPA is 3.7
and i want to apply to the dental schools this year ie 2011 for 2012. now the problem is,i do not have any work experience and i want to observe some practicing dentist in the US.
Q1- can i observe in the US on a visitor visa(b1/b2) ? ( like is there any new rule or something that doesnt allow us to observe in a clinic...i have heard abt it but not sure)
Q2- i took my toefl in sept 2009 and have a score of 103. should i be taking it again?? just that is doesnt get expired by sept 2011 and since i will be applying this year i would need it valid!! please advise on this too
Q3- how much does it matter whether i have /dont have any US dental clinical exposure/experience?? like what if i practice/shadow a dentist in my own country??
thanksa lot for ur advice..

regarding toefl you gotta take tht again.. coz ets website deletes your score after 2 yrs are over, so you cnt even access it after tht... and some schools have stated that it should be less than 2 years from its application deadline, although it is sep 2009 but deadline would be december or ov, so your score wudnt be valid.

it make s no sense to me coming to US just for obsrvorship, acc to me, it would be more beneficial if you continue to WORK/ PRACTICE as a dentist in your country rather thn being just an observor here that too is doubtful on b1b2.... plus try practising for the bench test practicals in your own country which is really little cumbersome here in states....

I totally agree. One thing, I'm sure of is, if u r coming here on a visitors visa and just want to shadow a dentist in the US, it doesn't matter what visa status u hold, until and unless u don't accept or expect any kind of official or unofficial monetary favors. Good luck!
