me and a friend of mine are trying to charter the club :FIMRC (Foundation of International Medical Relief of Children) at our school. I was really excited and starting to work through the paper work to getting it done when things started looking sour. Now by all means i do not expect for this organization to fly me out to whichever country, house and feed me for free. That, i think, is totally understandable. However, this organization wants each person coming on the trip to pay a "program donation" that depending on the different countries they gave as options we have to pay between 600 and 800 dollars! Now this club already exists at the other state schools in our state it was our first choice in chartering since it was easy to talk to the other college students that chartered it at their school. I just feel like i shouldnt have to pay someone to volunteer. I have no problem paying for my ticket, food, and housing but this extra donation is just so far from reasonable. Do you guys know anything about these types of organizations? i mean were college students for God's sake!
