So, I have about 1 month before I start training hardcore for the August MCAT. Could I please get some suggestions for reading material that might help me ease into studying verbal passage after verbal passage in the upcoming months? Thanks!! 😀

Just started "A Different Universe" by Robert Laughlin (nobel laureate in physics). Really good, been dying to recommend it to someone, but, frankly, it's quite difficult. Challenging and rewarding.

Try this website: www.aldaily.com One of my favorite sites.

Updated daily, relatively brief articles on arts, culture, philosophy, politics, etc. Similar level and topics as the verbal passages on MCAT.

Yup - there's always the trusty http://www.economist.com/index.html and whatnot. I pinpointed passages that I had trouble on - sociology, (pointless argument essays from people that use frivolous language to make up for their tiny weeny brains), and googled "sociology articles" etc. Wow... there's a whole lot of crap out there. Seriously... gad.

At this point, however, I've just been doing a whole lot of simulated MCAT passages like the ones in EK101. I'm pretty sure my IQ goes down from the aforementioned internet urp.

Caboose.

Hey QuickClot,

I just went ahead and purchased one of the books you mentioned in an earlier thread, entitled Sophie's world. Looking forward to reading it, and hope it won't be too hard to follow...
