PLZ, Desperately need advice on exam in 2 days!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you dont pass Step 2, you can't start residency, and you will lose your residency spot. I suggest that you are sure you can pass.

Delay it for 2 more weeks and do questions like crazy. Be sure you can pass this thing. Besides losing your residency spot this test would be a pain to retake and it costs some serious $$$.

wait, seriously? if you fail it you lose your spot? or you just have to retake and pass it before residency starts? now i'm worried, although I did ok on the second NBME test (220). that's the only one I bought. am I cutting it close? and are the repercussions really that bad?

thanks

I think it has to do whether your school requires step 2 passage for graduation. Some schools like Duke only require a first attempt. You need to graduate to work and many schools (though not all) require step 2 passage to graduate.

Otherwise you could take step 2 after graduation (if it is not required for graduation).

Maybe I am wrong, but in order to start residency, you have to pass both Step 2 CK and CS to obtain a temporary license. If not, you cannot "practice" on the wards. Anyone else know the absolute facts about this?

That's my understanding as well.

i got a 186 on Form 2

2 weeks later i took the test and came out with a 173. im going to take it again 1st week of May.

i would postpone it a few weeks and do another NBME if you can break 190 or 200, then go for it.

i passsed Form 2, studied for 2 more weeks and failed
