current 4th year very familiar with both programs, Sounds to me like family and friend proximity is very important to you, therefore PNWU may be right choice. objectively i believe COMP-NW is slightly better but ultimately going to DO school matching competitively is completely individual effort, there are no plug and play pathways to an easy match, no PDs to talk to face to face, gotta grind on boards, research and network like hell. all completely doable as students do this every year, however i agree with the assessment that COMP NW is more supportive of subspecialization, PNWU at the time I interviewed had an entire student panel for Q&A who were not taking Step, while very very few students at COMP dont take step, this was red flag to me but could have changed by now. n of 1. good luck!
