Choosing between these three schools. Tried my best to list and codify some things.

My SO and I currently live in Portland and my parents/family live in eastern Montana. My SO is also pursuing a graduate degree in the area and will not be able to move with me, therefore choosing PNWU or Western gives me the ability to drive to them. I have moved four times in four years and am growing tired of packing Uhauls/resettling into places. I hold nothing against DO's (hence why I am posting this), though I feel like going the MD route might give me better access to research ops, more biochem in the curriculum, and less uninformed people giving me the stink-eye throughout my career. I am currently leaning towards FM or IM -> Oncology, so I have yet to decide on how much of a focus on research I want to have. Please share any and all helpful info you may have regarding these schools. Props to people who say "I would choose this school because ________".

How long is your SO’s program? Is it a 2 year? If so, you will be heavy in studying a lot of those 2 years and then they could move to be with you.

The DO/MD merger for residencies makes me a little nervous going DO, so that along with cost and fit is why I ultimately picked an MD over my DO acceptance.

You were already accepted to UND? Just asking because myself and 3 other ND residents I know personally who interviewed there early November haven't heard squat yet.

No, I actually haven’t been accepted at this point. But I’m fairly hopeful, as the interview went well, etc. I just didn’t want to explain that technicality while trying to get peoples’ opinions :p

fair enough, I’d go MD, keep all those doors open as much as possible in case u want to choose a more competitive specialty !
