There have also been quite a few negative studies, including intracranial surgery (just about as good as placebo), gynecological, surgery, etc. It's funny, because I think the positive lidocaine infusion studies I've seen were also in intra-abdominal and spine surgery.
 
These studies are always a bit dubious. If you are lookinh for something you will alwayd find thr data to support it. Somehow. Not going to change my practice, which is not to give any acetaminophen unless itnis part of a multimodal regimen.

To be complete, I don' think the studies ever show CRNA equivalency. They just show that the CRNAs are good enough most of the time. The AANA just reinterpret this to mean equivalency
Just good enough most of the time- exactly what I want when going on the table!
