Do any of you have podcasts you like to listen to for educational and/or entertainment purposes? I do a LOT of driving between work, school, and home, as I live about 40 minutes from anywhere.
Anything you find really interesting/easy to maintain attention to? These are my favorites/recommendations:

StarTalk
This Won't Hurt A Bit
How to Do Everything
Diane Rehm Show
All things Considered
This American Life

The Bright Sessions
The Drabblecast
Hello from the Magic Tavern

Hey, friend! Huge podcast junkie over here.

Some of the best produced podcasts I have came across are Freakonomics, Radiolab, Ted Radio Hour, anything NPR. Some political ones include: The Weeds, The Ezra Klein Show, The Axe Files. And the one science/biochem podcast I have been adoring lately is FoundMyFitness.

I do a lot of driving too, and I basically just listen to podcasts now. Especially with an iPhone, the podcast app is great.

One episode I recommend any pre-med/physician/healthcare specialist is the Radiolab episode titled, "Playing God". It's amazing.

+3 on Playing God. Also, 23 Weeks 6 Days. I was tearing up on a bus coz of that and made me seriously consider being a neonatal care doctor.

Oh my goodness, I forgot about the 23 weeks 6 days, episode. That was so heart-wrenching. Elements was a neat episode too! And also, "The Girl Who Doesn't Exist" made me double take the entire episode.

Freakonomics is another really well put together podcast.

"Are you ready for a glorious sunset" is an amazing episode about end-of-life medical care. "The Suicide Paradox" is crazy too. Or if you're into soccer, they did an episode on Leicester City's historic win ("The Longest Long Shot"). I love freakonomics because Dubner takes these really random and strange topics and just looks at allllll the different sides and subtopics of it.

Haha I'm so happy someone else loves the Joe Rogan one.

I second this entire comment though. Dan Carlin is great, along with Malcolm Gladwell, Slate is great for the political wonks out there, although Slate leans pretty left. Tim Ferriss had some amazing interviews with Peter Diamandis.

What's the Joe Rogan one like? I am not a huge fan of his comedy specials, I don't hate it, just not totally my speed. If there's some more to it than that, though, I might check it out.

Yeah, I do too (listen to podcasts mainly). Well, I've also recently started using Overdrive, so I've been doing a lot of audiobooks lately, but I like to switch it up a bit too.

Pretty much the only podcast I listen to. If you like Rogans take on things (even if you don't find his comedy all that funny) you should give his podcast a listen. He has regulars on the show like Duncan Trussell, Bryan Callen, and Ari Shaffir, etc. who are mostly comedians but they talk about ALL sorts of really cool topics. Hes also had guests like Neil Degrasse Tyson, Russell Brand, Shane Smith, and many others including Dan Carlin which people have mentioned already has his own podcast.

Listen to a lot of different podcasts at random intervals, but TEDRadio hour has to be my consistent favorite but the Malcolm gladwell podcast from this past year was pretty awesome. Really looking forward to season 2.

Great summary here. I'd add that the episodes are like 3 hours of random-ness. But I prefer his episodes with more... specialized figures. The ones with his comedian/ufc friends are good, but kinda too random sometimes. The Shane Smith episodes are great, as well as the Tyson one! Any of the ones with Aubrey Marcus are great, too, along with Rhonda Patrick if you want to get a biochemistry fix in. With his podcast, you gotta read the description first!
