Hello all,
I have shadowed two Podiatrists in their private practices.
They perform surgeries in nearby hospitals (Typically 1 to 2 days a week) and see common complains at their respective practices for the duration of the days.
Their hours are extremely flexible. Work around 3-5 days a week. Less than 7 hours a day.
They do not take calls, so they get to relax after they are home.
Both podiatrists set up in Western Region of US in a highly populated city.
I would like to know the hours of Podiatrists who are employeed by hospital and ortho groups.
Like what is the work load in terms of days a week and hours a day.
Do you have to take calls when you're home? If so, how often?
Do you ever need to to stay at the hospital/ firm?
Percentage of time in surgical setting vs. clinical settings.
It would be great if you indicate which side of the US you're on and if the city is populated/ rural.
I would like to add that I have 3 interviews with pod schools lined up in January. So i'm not just doing a random drive by here.
Thank you all in advance.
Update: I found a pretty great POD SDN discussion:

This doesn't specifically state the work setting though (hospital, ortho, private, etc.)
