Ok for those of you that haven't heard AAMC has a new service this year. You can pay $15 to see your scores on the internet around June 7.

If you took the test last April are you going to pay to see your scores early or are you going to wait it out?

I would definitely shell out the extra money for that service? How does it work - where do you have to go on their website?

Oh hell no... They've already taken enough from me! They're mailing out the scores the same day that they're online, so I'd be waiting a whole 3 or 4 days more to get the scores -- a very short time compared to the 6 weeks we've waited already. They just want some more money. It's truly pointless in my situation since I'll be sending out my application on June 5th anyway, so getting the scores on the 7th or the 14th really makes no difference.

I hope you guys save your money!

I know that I am definately going to pay the $15 to those money hungry f%#@*!%. But then again, my situation kind of warrents it. I am going to be out of the state when the scores come in, and I was planning on having my mom fedex them to me overnight. This will save me the cost of doing that, and I won't have to worry about them getting lost in the mail. Considering my perspective, this idea can be very helpful to some of us. It's to bad they can't offer it as a free service though...

what's the web address for the early score option?

that's one of the best business moves I have ever seen.

Those of you that are asking where the address for the early score option I don't think it has been put up yet. I haven't actually seen the letter myself but I would assume that once they have it up they will make it readily avaliable from their web site. If anyone has more detail please feel free to share them.

Hey

I was wondering. What is going through your mind right now concerning your mcat scores? are you nervous? worried? confident that you did great?

for those applying this year and have the amcas 2003 application filled out, i wonder if you could get your scores online via the application the same day u get it online for $15. some sdn'ers have pointed out a few months ago that they got their scores early by via amcas.

If they could offer me the scores a few weeks ago, then yes, I'd be willing to put out the extra bucks. But on the same day they mail them? nope, not worth it to me. I'm feeling okay about the whole thing - I can't be nervous because it's already done and I can't change anything now!

Ok I got the letter today and my understanding is that AAMC will make the scores avaliable online when they start to mail them out. So, if your score gets mailed out first then you could get it a few days after it is online, but if your score is mailed out last you could have to wait a few more weeks. My question is why does it take them so long to mail all the scores out? The letter says that accessing the scores online does not influence when your scores are mailed or when schools recieve the scores so I assume they are not mailed all at once. Can't a computer print out your scores and your address and mail it out if all the tests are already scored? Also the website in the letter is just www.aamc.org/mcat so I guess when it is ready they will put up the link from there. I am going to pay but I am annoyed.

also, not that it matters much but the mail also said that the scores will only be viewable online (on that specific website) till Aug 1st. You don't have to pay more than once to view them again. And your application to those "non AMCAS" schools which you noted on MCAT daywill not be hurried/delayed etc due to this service.

Just FYI.

This is a great service for August MCAT takers.

Hell, I would! After spending $1000's on the applications process, whats another 15 bucks?!?!

Since I'm out of town I'd either have to have my mom read my scores to me over the phone (which might be a tramatic experience) or I'd have to wait an extra week for her to send them to me. I'm paying the extra $15 just to have the convenience of getting them online.
