Ok, I'll be taking the MCAT for the third time, probably August. So, I've taken the PR in the past. It helped but they definiatly believe in the CRAM theory of preparing for an exam.

i actually found him to be a tad on the annoying side 😀 😀

but i do have to agree: EK is definitely one of the better prep books -- esp. the VR 101

EK is far and the best because you can study drivng down the road or walking on the treadmill. I also have the Kaplan Comprehensive Review. Which is alot of help, but the EK cd's are still the best.

I have only used kaplan - I like kaplan. I think what i've realized though is that the most important thing is taking practice tests. Sure you need a book for cursory review but what it comes down to is understanding the mentality of the test. You need to master the method of questioning since we arent so lucky as to get anything so straightforward as "what is the force on this wire". Plus, practice test taking helps you identify your weaknesses, which are better fixed by looking at a textbook than the review books imho.

I've been using Berkeley Review and Kaplan, and I think that Berkeley Review is definitely better, especially in the physical sciences.

the TPR physical sciences review book is really good. the biological book sux. The verbal workbook has limited scope because there arent that many passages.

So, it would be good to complement good Bio and Orgo textbooks instead of review books and get the Kaplan practice tests for verbal. I have also heard that EK verbal is really good.
