What's the best bs/md choice?

First choice: wayne state medstart

Second Choice: university of Cincinnati connection dual admissions program

third choice: UMKC 6 year prog

The best one is the one you get admitted to. They are all very competitive.
I would recommend against attending a combined program. JMPO

i was accepted into all three. I was wondering what the general consensus would be.

HPME, then PLME. The rest aren't worth it, and I would argue that not even HPME/PLME are worth it unless you are insanely rich, short sighted, and/or 100% certain you want to rigidly map our the next 7/8 years of your life. Unpredictability is what make life fun and exciting. think about it.

If you do not think you will be able to get into ANY med schools in 4 years, however, then you may want to consider the program; but if you can get into a bs/md program at all, I would argue that you shouldn't have trouble getting into at least one med school.

I don't know much about any of the other programs except the one at UC, so I can't really compare them, but there are some great advantages to the program at UC.

If you are not in-state at the time you start undergrad, it is possible to establish residency and get the instate cost after 12 months of living. There are reduced MCAT and GPA requirements compared to the average for the school(less stress worrying about every grade). If you decide you want to go elsewhere for medical school, the only thing you lose is free AMCAS application. If I remember correctly, you can hold your spot at UC till May 15th and keep it as a backup if you choose to apply broadly.

truzzi i know this is what i want to do. dont worry about that.

I wanted to go to UC! The cost was just too much. I chose Wayne. This year's medstart class of 12 got offers from harvard, wash u, pritzker, mayo clinic, cleveland clinic, umich (4 kids), duke, and u chicago (full rides for last two i think). That's one thing I liked about it. We could apply out to other med schools after 4 years.

You can apply to other med schools in wayne state medstart program.
