Don't know but you have a few months or summer (if you're in school) to learn it well. :luck:

EDIT: And you have a while b4 you would have to prove it.

hey, don't worry about ponce until after your next cycle. didn't you start a thread about a high MCAT/low gpa? you'll do fine. just apply to MORE schools including out-of state safeties... you're a solid applicant and will be more successful next round.

this process is too random.

if there is research on the fountain of youth there then i will attend

I have heard great things about Ponce. I know of a guy that is doing his residency in internal medicine at UCSF that went to Ponce...

Some classes are taught in Spanish, some in English. You'll need to know enough to be able to follow lectures and take tests in Spanish. The good news is that a lot of medical terms are very similar is Spanish and English, plus given the material you'll be learning, elegant speaking and writing skills are probably not necessary. I'm sure that if you have a background in Spanish, your skills will increase rapidly once your immersed in the language down there.

Its true that some classes are taught in spanish, but ALL materials, test and quizzes are in english.

Yes, I interviewed there March 1st and I have a friend who is a second year there. He told me that despite some of the classes being taught in Spanish, the tests are all in English. Hope it helps...If you want to find out more just post it here or send me a PM, I will subscribe to this thread.

What's up guys? Anyone here going to ponce next year? I haven't heard back from them, I should be hearing something next week.

Go Medalla Light!

I am an MSIV here in Ponce, I've been really happy with the school.
I spoke Spanish when I came down though I was far from perfect at it. As long as you can communicate you will be fine here.
By the way people from Ponce get great matches every year.
This year classmates matched into ENT, Derm, Plastics, Optho, Rads etc.

Let me know if you have any other Q's

Hey guys, I have a question for all of you who know something about how things work in Ponce. I intervied eary in March. They tell me that the class is full and that I have to wait. There is two and a half months until fall semester starts, so I have some hope that some ppl will drop. Furthermore, someone told me there are only 15-20 ppl in my same situation, waiting to hear something. I have a 3.2 undergrad and a 3.4 Post-bach and a 28 MCAT. With these numbers do you think I have a shot? I should say that I'm Cuban-born living in Miami....What do you guys think my chances are???

I appretiate all your advices and opinions

Zepp.
