Hi, last semester i received a 3.0 in calc I, and this semester i think im going to not be able to get a 4.0 in calc 2 anymore since i just screwed up a test on taylor series, and will end up with just a 3.5. With this lack of significant improvement, do u think the adcoms are gonna look down upon this. Its not like Calc is hard, its just that i get just never find my self feeling the need to study it, so i just wing it. Ive probably done like 10 practice problems the entire year. Should i take Calc 3 and 4.0 the class to show that i know the stuff, or should i just forget about it and take some science class. All my other grades are 4.0s except a 3.5 in a 3 credit economics class.

you mean you got a 3.0 = B in a calc class and you are crying???

did your parents beat you for bringing home an A-?

People have failed classes, some even several (like me) as still get into dental school. Do well on the DAT and on the rest of your classes and you will be fine!

Don't stress about a B in calc. This weekend have a good time. Drink a few beers and watch UCLA dominate LSU.

i gratuated HS with a 2.6, its one thing to 2.6 highschool when u know u already got into the college of ur choice the instant u stepped onto ur "super prestigious prep highschool", and then its another thing to 2.6 college when u know the grades u get will actually matter this time around and play a large role on what u do for the rest of ur life. im just setting my priorities straight right now and putting forth the hours. college or education in general is not about how smart you are, its ONE HUNDRED PERCENT about how much effort you put in, a "dumb" kid could easily put in 10 hours of studying a week in college like everyone else and 4.0 those 4 years, a "smart" kid only gets his grade through the amount of work hes put in, no one is smart or dumb, they just either put in the effort or dont

anyhow, now that all my teams except florida are out of the tournament and my bracket it utterly destroyed...ive decided to jump onto the bandwagon and say GMU will win it all over UCLA, with ucla barely making it over lsu.

3.0 in both classes is fine. As long as you do good in your other sciences classes which are prereqs to dental school. It should raise your science GPA if those are good. I dont think calculus is covered in the DAT but some algebra will be. Just keep up your hard work and you'll be fine.

just keep your grades up and you'll be fine. Keep the high standards for yourself, but make sure that neither school nor dentistry becomes the entirety of what you see yourself as. That way a failure to meet your high expectations doesn't mean a major life failure that threatens your self-image. So, keep setting the bar high, but know how to keep pushing on in a sustainable, healthy way. If it is any consolation I got a B in Calc, was devastated my freshman year, then proceeded to get a C in Ochem 1, Biochem and religion. And in spite of my C's, was accepted to few pretty good schools imo. Keep your chin up and your eye on the ball.
