Just a quick secondary question. I am filling out one where it asks when have I been in the minority. I am AI/AN and have already talked about this in another part of my secondary. Thus, I was thinking of writing something about my work experience where I took a legal position (I am a lawyer) that was actually contrary to not only the interests of my Tribe but also the interests of other federal Indian tribes. It was the right thing to do especially because of how poorly the Tribe was treating the issue. I am very different from many liberals and many Indians in how I view tribal sovereignty issues. Many fight for tribal rights with no thoughts as to how they are enforced or what rights/protections are created, but I strongly support the position of creating more federal and less tribal oversight of tribal matters.

Anyways, I thought it would make for a good short answer on my secondary as I have already talked about how I would contribute to diversity. Any thoughts? Or am I just wasting good space on a secondary?

If you really are registered with a tribe, it won't matter because you will quite literally get in almost anywhere.

I am, but don't underestimate us.

One of my best weapons when I was a lawyer was not my brain but rather my brown skin. Opposing counsel would make the serious mistake of assuming that I am a ******** cause I am an Indian or that I got into law school cause of AA. This has happened to me in both tribal and federal court. Thus, opposing counsel underprepares or assumes that I do not have as good a command of the law as they do. Being better prepared, I would win.

Real trial is way more stressful than any mock trial. There are real consequences to what happens. I miss none of it.

Anyone have any thoughts on my original issue?

I love it! Take that with a grain of salt as it has been pointed out time & again that I'm only an adcom at one school.

This is awesome. Definitely discuss this.

"Only an adcom at one school" is hardly something to scoff at, but when other people literally take every word you say to heart with no consideration for alternatives a sense of flexibility should be put back into their heads (perhaps by repetition). Please continue to give us insight as you've done more good for this site than 99% of people who frequent here.
