I'm not a cardiologist--I'm a Psychiatrist. So bear with me.
Deglutittion Syncope from my limited knowledge in Cardiology is quite rare, and the few times it occurs, it can land a possible investigator an oppurtunity to publish a clinical case.
I think my sister in law has it. She was in a fast food joint last week, swallowed some hot food and fainted. No EKG was done, but the more I looked into the incident, the more I was thinking it might've been deglutittion syncope because out of all the cases I've read on it, she had several similarities with those cases.
She lives in Rochester Minnesota-so if anyone out there wants to possibly investigate this further, please PM me and I'll give her your contact info.
