Hey all,

Was hoping to get some advice on doing well on the family medicine rotation, which will be my first. I've heard this is a pretty tough shelf, and a bit worried about starting with it. Will be taking my Step 1 just beforehand though, so hoping that helps in some way. Thanks for any advice.

Definitely helps being just off of Step 1. Study AAFP questions from day 1. I liked Case Files, and supplement with the preventative med chapter in step up to medicine, and maybe OB/Gyn and Peds reviewing. Don't be too worried, just be sure to focus on studying. This is not the shelf to just review for the week before.

A good FM rotation will also prepare you well for bread and butter, but the real concern for people tends to be the broad nature of the material.

Yes. I did case files, AAFP questions, and read relevant stuff in step up to medicine.
