At UC Irvine, all interviewees are either accepted or placed on hold. Then around June/July they start pulling people off the hold list until they fill the class, and then finally send out rejection letters to the remainder.
It varies with each school of course, so your best bet is to ask us all about your schools in particular.
interesting, I got a letter that says ive been placed on hold and that after they finish interviewing they will either accept, reject or waitlist me...on recommendation on what i can do to increase my chances of acceptance?
