This is my first post here, so sorry if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it if necessary.
Straight to the point, I have recently completed my Certificate IV in fitness which means I am a qualified personal trainer (as soon as I hand in my assignments that is). Anyway, as part of the initial client assessment I would like to be able to conduct a basic posture analysis, which we did cover briefly as part of the course outline. However, while we did receive one example of a posture analysis sheet (the New York posture rating test), I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some other sample forms for assessing client posture. Or perhaps a review on the test sheet we were given, or some links to useful sites.
Now I don't intend on doing any sort of complete medical assessment, as I obviously am not qualified. All I am after is a simple sheet that can help me rate a clients' posture and determine whether or not I should be referring them to a qualified professional. Or if there is anything I, as their trainer could do to assist in improving their posture.
Thanks for hearing me out, and thanks in advance for any help.
Much appreciated,

The best place to look at is the NASM. This orginization has the most indepth anaylis of Posture analysis. To be able to be any good at this type of thing is you must have a huge back ground in movement science and after that it takes years to be even decent at posture analysis. It can be a very useful tool if it is done correctly but many people especially fitness clubs put people through this to make the customer think they are really good. So they use it as a gimmik. Most people the use Posture analysis really don't know how to do it and if they say they can do gate analysis you might want to call B.S. on that as well. There are very few people that can really do gate analysis effectively. Anyways check out the NASM website. I can not remember the name of their book but it covers everything for a good foundation in posture analysis. I hope this help and sorry for the typos I am in a bit of a hurry.
